The International Community of Mennonite Brethren (ICOMB) is made up of 21 national churches in 19 countries with approximately 450,000 members. ICOMB exists to facilitate relationships and ministries to enhance the witness and discipleship of its member national churches – connecting, strengthening and expanding.
Uruguay Annual Assembly
On 14–15 September 2019, the Conferencia de las Congregaciones de los Hermanos Menonitas en Uruguay (CCHMU – Mennonite Brethren conference of Uruguay) held its annual assembly number 62. Through a general report, members gathered in the assembly were informed about the work led by each ministry of the MB conference, as well as by the Executive Council for the 2018/2019 period. The event finished on Sunday with a united service of celebration and lunch. Some notes to highlight were: the 4 percent increase in membership compared to the previous period (2017/2018), the work carried out in churches on the country’s coast, the progress of the 2018-2021 work plan “Unification and revitalization for extension,” the strengthening of relationships with ICOMB and the leadership training programs with COBIM-Brazil. It was a time of communion and joy; brothers and sisters in Uruguay are grateful to God for this.
